Apparently it was the domain assigned to Monte-[African American or person of Black African descent]....being (very) politically correct, what with Obama winning the elections today.
Apparenltly there were quite a few enterprising people who jumped onto the .me bandwagon. Apprently there was a rush to grab the domains:

- buy.me
Yup, I did check...you're going to have to pay through your nose for screw.me or f***.me too.
Wait...you haven't heard it all. Do you know what was the previous CCTLD assigned to Monte-[African American] when it was still part of Serbia and Montenegro?
